Calvin de Grey
Calvin de Grey

Calvin was born to entertain following in the footsteps of his father, the well-known actor and comedian Slim DeGrey. Calvin was a 'fair dinkum', 'ridgy didge', 'she'll be right on the day', 'cheques in the mail' type of bloke. His comedy act iwas hilariously funny, topical and punchy as he stood up for all things Australian and our own unique way of life.

Cal  appeared in various television commercials for companies such as Suzuki, Pizza Hut, Oz Lotto and Foxtel's “Win the year of your life”. He also had character roles in A Country Practice, Cody, and GP.

After his family, his true love was stand up comedy and for 25 years it was “on stage” where Calvin DeGrey really stood supreme. Give him a microphone and he was in his element, as he took his audience with him along a trail of laughter, warmth and delight.

In the early years, his comedy career flourished supporting such legendary artists as Mental as Anything, Vince Jones, Jon English, Ric Price, Monica and the Moochers and Troy Cassar Daly. He was also in high demand on the sports speaking circuit as he brightened up shows with celebrities such as Jeff Thomson, Doug Walters, Max Walker, Brett Kenny, Mario Fenech, Len Pascoe and Malcolm Johnston.

He will be sorely missed by those who knew him, whether personally or by seeing him perform.
